Stanley Shigeto Waki
It’s with heavy hearts & deep appreciation for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of our beloved father & grandfather, known lovingly as “Stan” who left us peacefully on April 13,2026 in Menifee, Ca. Born in the serene town of Paia, Maui. He was the 5th of 10 children. Son to Motozane & Teruyo Waki.
A man of profound character & spirit, he was predeceased by his devoted wife, Mitzi Michiyo Inouye, with whom he shared a life filled with love & devotion. Predeceased by his parents & siblings: brothers David& Joyce, Paul (Ruby), Robert (Thelma), Daniel (Sally)&sisters Violet &Walter Vasconcellos & Florence (Clarence) Ohashi.
Surviving him are his daughter Jacqueline (Paul) Blatchford. He leaves grandchildren who were his pride & joy: Leana Waki, Joshua Blatchford & Ret.USAF Jamie (Dillon) Seymour. His great-grandchildren Stephanie Battin & Ethan Payne. We will forever hold dear his gentle laughter & the twinkle in his eyes. He is also survived by sisters Shrine Racoma & Norene (Roy) Matsuoka & Walter (Yvonne), along with several nieces, nephews & dear friends including Felix (Haley) Romero, Harry Van Groenewout & Mary Carrillo-Suan.
Stan was a proud graduate of Maui High School & honorably served his country during the Korean War. His service, marked by his remarkable skills as a sharp shooter & his prowess in boxing, exemplified his courage & commitment.
A dedicated employee of Alpha Electric Co., he retired after years of diligent service. He loved his friends there & considered them like family. He was very fond of “Lo” who was kindhearted to share her home cooked meals with him. After he moved to Menifee, they would send him Aloha care packages filled with his favorite local snacks. Thank you so much. This brought so much joy in his life. Alongside his wife, Mitzi, they were devoted members of SGI church, where they dedicated their lives to their faith & community.
His life was filled with simple joys & passions, as he was an avid tennis player, skilled spear fisherman & a love for playing cribbage. His witty sense of humor & infectious laughter endeared him to all who knew him. His love for his family & friends was evident in every story he shared. We will miss him.
