Roylen “Sly” Shim 73 of Mountain View, Hawaii passed away on June 16,2025. Born in Lahaina, Maui to the late Henry Hen Lee & Mary Haili Shim. Lahainaluna graduate '69. Retired from Carpenters Union Local 745 and U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. Loved surfing, paddling canoe, baseball, cooking, his doggies and his yard. He helped others, volunteering his skills. Loved his Ohana, and generations of Nieces and Nephews.
Survived by his partner Julie Lee, Brothers Stanley(Susie) Shim of Lake Worth,Fl., Gilbert Shim of Punalau/Lahaina, Rodney(Nancy) Shim of Kihei,Maui. Sister Leona Shim of Wailuku, Maui. Predeceased by brothers and sisters: Adrian, Ewalani, Beverly, Willy, Gerald. A celebration of life will be at Wahikuli Beach, Lahaina @ noon on August 8th,2026.
