Carlos Hernandez Diaz was born in Guatemala on November 10, 1949. He came to Maui in August 1991 and worked for MEO at the pineapple cannery in Kahului. Later he worked as a commercial painter at several places, his last employment was at Lahaina Shores Resort. Carlos brought the music of the Latin world to Maui in great form as a radio producer for the program Ventana Al Mundo Latino. He is survived by his wife Audrey Rocha Reed, his sister Julia Hernandez, his daughter Jessica Johanna Hernendez Chigna, stepsons Jacob and Larry Hudson and Ivan Luce. Six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, numerous cousins and friends. Memorial Mass is scheduled for November 1, 2026, at 1:00pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at Heritage Hall, 401 Baldwin Ave., Paia.
