Dawn Kathleen Locy Tanaka was born in The Dalles, Oregon to Wayne and Alma Locy on October 15, 1953. She moved to Maui during her elementary school years. Except for a few years on Oahu, she lived on Maui until her passing on July 1, 2026.
She is survived by her husband, Randall Tanaka; her sons Nicholas Wayne Kazuo (Henohea Kane) Tanaka, and Daniel Hideo (Kala Baybayan) Tanaka; and her beloved grandchildren, Keali'ipunahele, Kalae'ula, Kahia, Tekauri, Kamani and Kia'i.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 18, 2026 from 9:00 am to 12 noon at 190 Iao Valley Road.
