January 25, 1932 - October 19, 2022 Yoshimi Oki, born in Lahaina, Maui and a longtime resident of Lahaina and Wailuku, died on October 19, 2022. Yoshimi is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. She will always be remembered as a kind and generous person with a witty and quick sense of humor. Yoshimi is pre-deceased by her husband, Masaharu Oki; her parents, Shigeto and Tsuruno Teshima; and nine siblings. Private memorial services were held on Saturday, December 3, 2022. March 30, 1922 – November 18, 2022 Kay Kazuko Fukuda, of Kula, Maui passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children. She was born in Tokyo, Japan to Seiichi and Hisa Ohata. A graduate of Maui High and the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Kay went to the mainland for graduate studies and worked as a dietician. While living in Wisconsin, Kay’s older brother introduced her to Ippu Fukuda, whom she married in 1958. They remained married until his death in 1979. Beverly Elinor Lawler, born August 25, 1934, born in Norton, MA worked at Alexander & Baldwin for 15 years as Office Manager, and was happily married to the late Richard (Rip) Lawler for 23 years. She also had a brother Alton now deceased. She moved to the Big island in 1979 and Maui in 1982. Robert Michael Kutz, passed away on November 13, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. “Bob,” “Fat Bob,” or ”Bula Bob,” as he was also known worldwide, was born in Eugene, Oregon on December 21, 1950 to Albert Kutz and Betty Jean Harp. He graduated from North Eugene High School in Eugene, Oregon. Bob was a U.S. Army veteran. He would later go on to work for the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier, and later obtained his Associates Degree in computer science.
