On July 8, 2020 Bala passed away peacefully at his residence. He was born to Jenichi and Hisayo Kohama on November 23, 1922 in Kahului, HI. He was a retired carpenter and also did masonry. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed going to Las Vegas. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Yukie (Himori). The Yoshioka family is sad to announce the passing of Haruye Yoshioka on July 13, 2020 at Hale Makua in Wailuku. Haruye wa born to Hikoichi and Sueno Tsue on March 30, 1925. She worked for 44 years at Maui Land and Pineapple Co. warehouse section. Haruye’s husband Takashi died in 2012 and she is survived by her sons, Robert (Iwa) and Wesley Yoshioka and daughter, Lei (Lawrence) Kai. Numerous grand and great grandchildren. Patricia Ann Tavares Carvalho, 88, of Hilo died May 22 at the Hawaii Care Choices Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Makawao, she was a retired nurse's aide at the Life Care Center of Hilo, member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Big Island Portuguese Culture Club. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, private services were held in Hilo.
