Masuye Shigematsu Hew, 94, of Kahului, Maui, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2019, at Roselani Place. Services honoring Ms. Hew were held privately by family. Masuye was born on August 22, 1925 to Mr. Kikutaro and Mrs. Shizu Miyamoto in Honolulu, HI. She and her husband Patrick were the owners of Hew's Store and Restaurant and took great pride in providing for their family. Eugene L. Kuszajewski passed in peace in Wailuku, Hawaii, under hospice care on Nov. 24, 2019 at the age of 82. He was born Dec. 26, 1936 in Detroit, MI, resided in Alpena, MI for over 50 years. He moved to Maui, Hawaii after retirement and has lived there for the past 15 years. He served in the Air Force (1959-63) and had a lifelong career working for Alpena Telephone Company. In his later years he enjoyed golfing, reading, and cooking and also excelled in mechanical work. Joan Antonia Pacheco, 87, of Kahului passed away peacefully at home on December 5, 2019. She was born on May 30, 1932 in Kaheka, Maui to the late Carlos and Sebastiana Melendez. She is predeceased by her husband, Henry T. Pacheco and 14 brothers and sisters. Joan was a faithful member of First Assembly of God, King’s Cathedral.
