Patricia “Patty” Enriquez, 80 of Wailuku, Maui passed away peacefully at home on May 7th, 2019. She was born on December 9th, 1938 in Puna, Hawaii to the late Santiago Garcia Antida and Otomo Pililani Kobayashi, owners of Ola’a Sugar Company who were known for their sugar cane, papaya and vanda orchids until 1960 when the Kilauea eruption consumed the family plantation. Patricia was intelligent and gifted with many talents. She well versed in Hawaiian, Japanese, Filipino and the English language. Yoshiko Judy Napihaa, 95, of Wailuku passed away on May 27, 2019. Yoshiko was born on September 15, 1923 to Taro and Ushi Higa. She was a cook at Tasty Crust before retiring. She is pre-deceased by brothers, Takeo, Hideyasu, Susei Higa and sister Fumiko Miyahira. Mary Lou Schenk, 92, of Wailuku, Maui passed away at her home on June 4th, 2019 under Hospice Care and was surrounded by her family. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 4th, 1926. Beecher died June 1, 2019, while windsurfing at Kanaha Beach Park on Maui. Beecher was born in September 1941 in Meriden CT to Frank and Ella Wooding. He earned a BA in Geology at Harvard, graduating in 1965. He worked for Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution in Massachusetts for 40 years. The bulk of his career at WHOI was spent designing and developing instrumentation for the ocean-bottom environment. He participated in at least 60 science cruises. Pearl Lorraine Blair was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to Kim Len and Harriet Loy Kyau Yap on November 25, 1924. She enjoyed a full and wonderful life and went home to be with God on April 27, 2019 at the age of 94. She attended Maryknoll Elementary School and University Lab School, graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1942.
