Tomoye Murakami (Shimizu), born on April 4, 1920 passed away on February 13, 2019. She is survived by her son, Major Howard Yoshiyuki Murakami, SAF, NC (Retired) and grandson, Marcus Masanao Murakami. Lawrence "Larry" H. N. Kukahiko, passed at home on March 15, 2019. He is predeceased by his parents Henry & Mary Theresa Kukahiko. He is survived by 3 sisters: Jacqueline (Robert) Watson, Lynda Mae (Gilbert-deceased) Marzan & Cynthia (Mack) Wright, he also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Lawrence was a 4 year boarder at Lahainaluna High School, graduating class of 1982. He served in the US Army from 1984 to 1988. Hiroshi Arisumi, 98

Hiroshi Arisumi, 98, of Kula, passed away on March 8, 2019, peacefully and surrounded by his family. He was a veteran of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team and was passionate about continuing its legacy with the Nisei Veterans Memorial Center. In 1952, he co-founded Arisumi Brothers, Inc. In the early 1960's, he bought his place in Kula and moved there full time in 1965.  His passion to experiment with farming resulted in delicious persimmons and other produce and flowers to share with family and friends.  After retiring from Arisumi Brothers, he devoted his time to farming and to ...
