Harold Ruiz “Pops” Melendez, 80, of Wailuku, passed peacefully at home under care of Hospice Maui. A Celebration of Life will be held at Wailuku Community Center on Sunday, November 25, 2018 from 12:00pm – 5:00pm. Nakamura Mortuary assisted with the arrangements. Mr. Melendez was born in Paia, Maui on September 8, 1938. He was retired as a tire repairman with Rex Tire. Mary Sweet, 88, of Paia, formerly of Anchorage, Alaska passed away November 5, 2018. Mary was active in the PEO a philanthropic ladies’ organizations, and the Makawao Union Church. Mary was a retired Probation Officer with the State of Alaska. She played the flute in the Anchorage Symphony as well as sang in the Anchorage Community Chorus for many years.
