He worked at HC&S from 1980 until he took an early retirement in 2006, as Field Irrigation Maintenance, due to health reasons. Tetsuyuki “Captain” Nakamoto, 91, of Lahaina, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2018, under the compassionate care of Hospice Maui and loving family by his side. Services honoring Mr. Nakamoto was held yesterday at Lahaina Jodo Mission. Due to an error at The Maui News the obituary did not appear in the paper before the services. Toshiko Asato Kajihara, 95, died on February 3, 2018, at Queen’s Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Hamakua Poko and raised in Lahaina, Maui, she lived in Waimea, Kauai; Mililani, and Kaimuki, Oahu. Toshiko retired as a medical records clerk from Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed her family, flowers, plants, reading, and music and supported Takashi with his projects. Toshiko is survived by Takashi, husband of 71 years.
