Masaru Nitta, 102, of Hilo, Hawaii and formerly of Kahului, Maui died Oct. 6 at his residence. Born in Paia, Maui, he was a retired machinist for Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Company, member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, Kahului Hongwanji Mission and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Anti-tank Company, 442nd Regimental Combat Team during World War II. Walter Dado Deloso, 71, of Waikapu, passed away on September 25, 2017, at Straub Medical Hospital. He was born on July 11, 1946, on Maui. A Celebration of life will be held in his honor on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at St. Ann’s church in Waihe‘e. Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m.-9:45 a.m. Mass at 10:00 a.m. The family has requested casual attire and no additional flowers.

He was born June 3, 1941 in Bacarra Ilocos Norte in the Philippines. Ann Gusman, 83, of Pepeekeo, Big Island, passed away on October 7th, 2017 at her residence in Hilo. She was born on October 30th, 1933 in Pu’unene, Maui. Ann was a Senior Service Aide for the County of Maui, as well as a member of the Maui Puerto Rican Association, the Holy Family Church Choir in Pu’unene, and the St. Joseph Church Choir in Makawao.
