Stanley S. Sakata, 78

Stanley Sadakatsu Sakata, 78 of Pukalani passed away at his home on September 7, 2017 He was born in Hailiimaile, Maui to Katsumi and Sadami Sakata. Stanley was a graduate of Maui High School and Los Angeles State College. He worked in the civil engineering department of the California State Lands Commission, then later moved to the California Division of Highways until his retirement in 2004. Tsugio “Tsugi” Sakurada, 92, of Wailuku, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2017, under the compassionate care of Islands Hospice and Luzy Alonzo. Services honoring Mr. Sakurada will be held privately at his request. Nakamura Mortuary assisted with arrangements. Tsugio was born in Honolulu, on January 17, 1925 to Kakushi & Yoshika Sakurada. Charles Alexander Wallau passed on September 28, 2017. He was born October 15, 1996 in Keokea to Elizabeth Miller-Wallau and John Sheldon Wallau. Charlie was a talented musician and artist who worked at the Keokea Gallery. Helen Mae Schouten, 80 of Kihei, passed away on October 1, 2017, under the care of Hospice Maui. She was born on January 17, 1937, in Portland Oregon. A memorial will begin at 3:30pm on Friday October 6, 2017 at Kalama Heights, 101 Kanani Road. Helen moved to Hawaii in 1957 and was a retired computer programmer at the blood bank of Hawaii. Keiji Ushiro of Monterey Park, California was born in Wailuku, Maui, HI and at the age of 82 passed away peacefully with wife and daughter by his side on September 17, 2017. He is survived by his beloved Ohana, including devoted wife, Irene S.
