Larry K.L. Wong Jr., 43 of Honolulu passed away in Las Vegas. He was born on November 24, 1973 in Honolulu. His career started as a Sales Representative for Pflueger Auto Value Center and Jim Falk Motors and later he became self-employed as an IT Technician. Private services were held. Carole Sugimoto Ikeda, 90, of Wailuku, passed away peacefully under the compassionate care of Hospice Maui on July 9, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Services honoring Mrs. Ikeda will be held at Nakamura Mortuary on Saturday, July 22, 2017. Visitation will begin at 4:00pm, with services beginning at 5:00pm. Lloyd Lee Loope, 74, of Makawao, passed away July 4 in his home. A celebration of his life is being planned for a later time. Lloyd was a conservation biologist for the U.S. Geologic Survey and worked at Haleakala National Park. His passion was for preserving Hawaii’s native ecosystems; he was determined to quell the threat of invasive species. By calling attention to quarantine issues at Kahului Airport, he raised statewide public awareness of this serious problem.
