In 545 A.D., Roman Emperor Justinian arrested Pope Vigilius for believing the teachings of Jesus, Origin, St. Clement of Alexandria and other early church fathers who believed in the pre-existence of the soul and reincarnation.
Hebrews 9:27 does not disprove reincarnation (Letters, May 10). What was at issue upon reading the entire chapter was whether or not Jesus had to be sacrificed more than once.
Matthew 11:7-15 and Matthew 17:10-13 clears up the mystery. Jesus taught the disciples that John the Baptist was the reincarnation of the Jewish prophet Elija/Elias. Verse 13 is emphatically clear. The disciples “understood.”
