Over the years, my admiration for the American team and its many "heroines" -- my love gained by the raindrops -- was lost by the bucketful by that one team on that one day. The overkill, nonstop celebrations on and off the field overtook the integrity of the game -- they were excessive, unnecessary and, above all, cheap -- humiliation trouncing humility. Can't teach class!
