Loud honking horns the only flaw of Makawao Parade
The Makawao Parade on July 6 was a nearly perfect event, representing many colorful, joy-filled aspects of local life, including the antique cars and trucks, horses, children and bands.
The only flaw was the loud, long honking horns from some of the larger trucks passing by toward the end. Does anyone consider these prolonged deafening noises a desirable ingredient, especially following a few horses who were visibly stressed by all the people, noise and commotion?
If drivers on our roads honked their horns like that, they would rightfully be considered rude and offensive.
