Rising tide of fees may be higher in Hawaii

From a recent Opinions article in reference to the rising tide of fees, I did some research and according to the July edition of Consumer Reports: The average American family gives up $3,278.93, and that number may be higher in Hawaii, since we live in an impacted tourist tax and fee state where we take it in the ear when we travel from one island to another for hotels, airfare, car rental and a host of other small but significant fees, including but not limited to, wifi access and parking.

As my neighbor likes to say, “Welcome to ‘Feelandia.’ “
