There are two theories on the migration of peoples into Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesia.
Archaeological evidence demonstrate a technological connection between the farming cultures of the "south," meaning Southeast Asia and Melanesia and sites that are first known from mainland China, whereas a combination of archaeological and linguistic evidence has been interpreted as supporting a "northern" origin from Southern China and Taiwan.
My ancestors belonging to the Austronesian language family traveled thousands of miles from Southeast Asia into the Pacific Ocean and settled in Melanesia, Micronesia and the Polynesian triangle from New Zealand, Hawaii and Rapa Nui. This migration is evidence of a people journeying into the unknown from the "south" or "north," which both can be supported by my paternal or maternal lines.
Like the Pacific for the Austronesian language family, the urge to explore outer space today is real.
The point is: Within the psyche of people there is a curiosity to explore.
The forces encountered now at Mauna Kea on Hawaii island will determine whether Hawaii and its people become the point from where deep space is discovered and explored.
