I am grateful to Mayor Michael Victorino for standing up for regular Maui citizens and for the county as a whole. His recent column ("Our County," Aug. 16) laid out the issues so I could understand them.
Then later, I saw the photos on Hawaii News Now, and from my personal experience, the reef at Kahekili (Airport Beach) is one of the best spots for snorkeling on West Maui, just like it was shown in the photo provided by the county. The other photos look like it was right after a storm.
Now I know for sure those people suing the county are willing to do and say whatever it takes to coerce the County Council members. Your voters are watching and we are counting on you to do the right thing and go to the Supreme Court.
