On Christmas Eve, we lost a beloved member of our community. Dr. Andrew Janssen, while riding his bike in Kula, was struck by a truck and killed. Although I understand the need to report the news, your photo of him lying in a body bag in the middle of the road was extremely upsetting and inappropriate.
Dr. Jannsen was a wonderful husband, father and friend, as well as a caring and compassionate doctor. He will be missed by all who knew him. However, your photo is the last memory that we now have. Shame on The Maui News. It's time to re-evaluate some of your policies.
