Might we on Maui create "The Impossible First" ideal sizable society of Mauitopia?
Prior to December 2018 no individual had ever crossed the landmass of Antarctica alone. The explorer Colin O'Brady did it and wrote a book chronicling his journey called "The Impossible First." His transcontinental 50 days covered 932 miles and were marked by long days, short nights and stunning endurance.
Creating Mauitopia will require similar perseverance. As did landing a person on the moon, creating the polio vaccine and soon the coronavirus vaccine.
A decade ago, I wrote the pamphlet, or mini book "Creating Mauitopia: Making Maui a Real Paradise" (updated edition available for free at mauitopia.org).
Mauitopia will have no violent crime, everyone will do what they love, and all of us will live aloha.
Getting to Mauitopia may be as challenging of a journey as crossing Antarctica alone, although it will be a much warmer societal trek.
