Kupuna says current infection rate no big deal

1 min read

Are our local politicians insane or is it just my imagination? The current estimated state of Hawaii's population, according to the 2020 Census, is 1.41 million. So, as I am writing this letter on the evening of May 2, there are 62 active cases of coronavirus in the entire state. This equates to one active case for every 26,000 kamaaina.

The count of infected cases increased by one today, the second day in a row it has increased by one. So, as a kupuna, I am saying let the Class of 2020 graduate as every other class has in the past. The current infection rate is no big deal. At current infection rate, if you filled Aloha Stadium to capacity, odds are 1.2 people would have the virus.
