For the record, I am writing this on July 12, just in case this letter doesn't appear much later and the situation has changed.
Life is about taking risks -- reasonable risks. There is no such thing as risk-free living. Letting tourists back in starting Aug. 1 without quarantine if they have a negative COVID test is a reasonable risk.
Keeping the economy closed is not a reasonable risk. Telling businesses that Aug. 1 is a date they can rely upon, and then casting doubt is not only unreasonable but harmful.
Governor and mayors, hold to the Aug. 1 date.
