KCA online meeting to feature LUC chair
As our community continues the long wait for the high school in Kihei (mauka of the highway), at least we had assurance for almost a decade that when it does open, the keiki and everyone else walking or cycling to the school had safe passage via an under- or overpass of the Pi’ilani Highway.
Do you know why? A state Land Use Commission condition. What do you know about this statewide all-volunteer panel?
Kihei Community Association commences its 61st year of incorporation with our first membership meeting of this year, where we welcome the current chair of this commission, special guest Jonathan Likeke Scheuer, as well as Maui’s own Dick Mayer and Mark Hyde to discuss numerous aspects of the LUC and its effects on our area.
We will also announce the organization officers elected by the 2021 Board of Directors.
Everyone can participate via Facebook Live online at: https://facebook.com/kihei.community.association/live, even if you do not have a Facebook account.
Do not forget your donation of nutritious, nonperishable food for Maui Food Bank. Since we had to switch to online meetings, we cannot physically collect, but we all know the need is greater than ever, so we ask anyone who watches to commit to help feeding those in need.
Membership is not required to participate online either, but encouraged, with a 40 percent discount offer in effect. See www.gokihei.org to become a member or sign up for our newsletter. For more information, call (508) 499-9996. Like it? Like us on Facebook.
