County charter, commission focus of next KCA meeting

As always at 6:30 p.m. the third Tuesday of the month, on May 18, Kihei Community Association will conduct its general membership meeting, open to the entire community.

In these times, it is a virtual meeting, available to all at https://facebook.com/kihei.community.association/live even if you do not have a Facebook account.

Our meeting will focus on the Maui County Charter, which is currently under review by the Charter Commission, something that occurs once a decade. Our guest is the commission’s chairman, Lance Collins, who will talk about the County Charter as well as the current commission, and how to participate. Their next meeting is just two days after ours, on at 6 p.m. May 20 and it is also online.

Don’t forget your donation of nutritious nonperishable food for Maui Food Bank. Since we had to switch to online meetings, we cannot physically collect, but we all know the need is greater than ever, so we ask anyone who watches to commit to help feeding those in need.

KCA is an all-volunteer, unfunded, non-profit, membership community organization. Membership is not required to participate online either, but encouraged, with a 40 percent discount offer in effect. See www.gokihei.org to become a member or sign up for our newsletter.
