Why block off door and not use it for exit?

When I purchase food from Maui Marketplace, they have one door for entering and exiting.

They block off the other door. At a lot of places like Walmart, Bank of Hawaii, they have one area for entering and another for exiting to create more social distancing.

I called management and left a message at the height of the pandemic, but they didn't change anything.

I can't figure out why would they block off the other door and not use it for an exit.

I am glad at this point more people are vaccinated. The management makes no sense.
