Automated software grabs sunrise reservations

1 min read

My family has been attempting for seven days to secure a sunrise reservation to drive in to see Haleakala.

Every day, the 25 spots released are gone instantly, within five seconds.  This can only be because tour companies have programmed automated software to snatch these spots up before regular people get the chance.

We will continue to try in case we somehow "get lucky," but it is not fair that we will unlikely not get the chance due to for-profit businesses.
