On this day, we give thanks to the men and women who came to serve our country in the military.
I have had the pleasure and blessing of having four veterans in my life: My father who served in WWII; my stepfather who served in WWII, Vietnam and the Pentagon; my father-in-law who served in Germany and Vietnam; and my kind, young niece who signed up and went to Afghanistan.
These are some of the finest people you could ever meet. They possess great integrity and have lived their commitments in the face of adversity. They saw things I pray to never see, and experienced things that I'm not sure how I would live with.
It is with the greatest admiration and appreciation that I say thank you to them, as well as all our veterans.
