Council member praises Department of Water Supply

I wanted to give a shoutout to the many people who are working hard to get us safe and whole in this time of distress with the recent storm.

I have not had water and electricity for a few days.

And I have been hearing from residents.

This afternoon, I received a text from Kula resident and community convener Doug Sheehan. He shared: "Board of Water Supply right now (sharing a photo of a helicopter hauling a pipe to site). Might have water by tomorrow. Boys sure working long and hard."

I said I had heard that the Department of Water Supply walked in the pipe because the terrain and weather was too rough.

"Yes," Doug said, "but this one last spot they could not walk pipe in, so needed copter. Original pipe was cast iron. This plastic is light. This team is fantastic."

Wanted to share some appreciation from Doug and from the many of us who appreciate the hard work and effort for a safer community. Thank you.
