As a polio survivor, I have been a lifelong advocate for vaccines.
However, COVID, and especially the omicron variant, is not polio.
Children under the age of 18 have been almost universally spared from the worst of this pandemic. Children are also not major vectors of transmission. And yet we are still subjecting our keiki to interminable mask-wearing both in and out of the classroom.
And now we have learned that a study from Arizona has concluded that the national mask mandate for children was flawed, perhaps fraudulent.
Additionally, our own Centers for Disease Control is now advocating that we vaccinate children as young as 5!
Frankly, I think we have good reason to be skeptical. We have been misled and lied to from the start of this pandemic.
The very institutions charged with protecting the most vulnerable among us have institutionalized child abuse. Shame on them and shame on us if we let this continue!
