Remember Hawaii's ballistic missile alert on January 13, 2018? Years ago, when national news downplayed North Korea's missile testing in the Pacific, I thought "they know Hawaii is in the Pacific, right?"
Since learning of North Korea's nuclear testing, they have been on my radar for prayer and advocacy.
If Tibet and East Turkistan's Uyghurs could weigh in on North Korea's stance on nuclear power, they may have different perspectives than us. North Korea's aggression may be aimed at the United States but serves as a warning for China too. Hong Kong and Taiwan's current situation and lack of foreign intervention would make any nearby nation hesitant to relinquish their nuclear weapons.
Disarming North Korea is understandable though. Considering the complete disregard for their own people, this tyrannical regime puts the entire world at risk with their nuclear capabilities.
Historically, it happened before when a savagely cruel nation immediately "gave up their evil ways and violence." How that happened is something worth considering.
Jesus referenced it: "On the Judgment Day the men from Nineveh will stand with you people who live today. They will show that you are guilty because when Jonah preached to them, they were sorry and changed their lives."
Changed hearts and minds is what's needed. Scripture says, "One day many godless nations will become joined with the Lord. At that time, everyone will get along. Not by might or power, you can't force these things. They only come about through the Spirit of God."
