It is obvious that the state and county have no clue what the art of communicating is all about.
Lane changes and closures on Pi'ilani Hwy caused stopped and backed up traffic from a mile south of Lipoa all the way to the new high school.
At the same time, one lane of traffic was closed on South Kihei Road, causing backups from Lipoa to the whale center and from the Kihei Day Center school to the whale center.
Why would the county and state Department of Transportation let such a situation occur?
Stupidity, lack of transparency, no empathy, self-serving. Communicating skills must be absent at the higher levels.
DOT must do better.
