As a Molokai resident, I would like to share why I am enthusiastically supporting Mahina Poepoe for House District 13 representative (East Maui, Lanai, Molokai).
She is a leader in the response to climate change, a water protector and a fishpond steward.
She diligently works to abate tourism incursions, fights for a living wage and seeks to eliminate the influence of money in politics.
Mahina serves on the Conservation Planning Committee, Solid Waste Task Force, Board of Directors of the Molokai Community Health Center and was a legislative analyst for Maui County Council Member Keani Rawlins-Fernandez.
My hope is that as you familiarize yourself with her extraordinary grassroots resume, you will see that Mahina Poepoe’s values, platforms and concerns reflect those of all of the communities in our multi-island District 13.
Her quiet and steady leadership style, hands-on approach to problem solving, ability to get things accomplished and strategic smartness all combine to make Mahina Poepoe the ideal candidate to represent us in the State House.
