Roundabout challenges departmental legitimacy

1 min read

I am a life scout from the local Boy Scout troop 22 and I am just writing to vocalize my opinion on the Kihei roundabout.

I think that the roundabout is a very ineffective product for what has been demanded of the Hawaii Department of Transportation, as they told the Hawaii Department of Education that they would need a grade-separated crossing regardless.

The fact that this very important information was disregarded and put off until the last moment when the state-of-the-art school was ready to open, a school with a $120 million price tag (at least to our knowledge), was very upsetting and disappointing.

This brings up the idea that the people working for these departments may have to be looked at for their legitimacy. I am just speaking the public's opinion or what I have heard from multiple folks.

Again, I am just vocalizing the opinion of me and my peers among my school and other community members.
