Parishioners in Makawao await pastor to open center

1 min read

Parishioners at a popular church in Makawao will see another beloved pastor leave for another assignment.

We had hoped that this pastor would be the one to cut the ribbon and open the doors of our new parish center which has been in the planning stage for years and more years.

In fact, seven pastors have come and gone, and each had hoped to be the one to offer us a new building.

What could be the problem? Not money: We have it. Not property: The Lord knows we have enough. Then what?

Parishioners should not be so patient and wait. If we don't speak up, we become part of the delay.

Maui County is holding up the project. Permits are impossible to obtain. The pastor never gets any information from those holding up these permits.

So, as we say aloha to another pastor, we pray that perhaps, just perhaps, our next Father will be the one to dedicate our new parish center.
