Dreaded mud floods topic for discussion at meeting

1 min read

While drought conditions are forecast, Kihei residents are well aware it only takes one heavy rain in Kula to once again bring the dreaded mud floods to their homes, businesses and infrastructure.

This month, the Kihei Community Association general membership meeting will get some input on various aspects that contribute to the onslaught.

As the matter begins Upcountry, we will hear from Haleakala Ranch's Scott Meidell. Since the affected location is South Maui, the district's Maui County Council Member Tom Cook will participate. To take the holistic overview, talk of the Southwest Maui Watershed comes from Michael Reyes.

The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Nov 21 at ProArts Playhouse in Azeka I.
