When people say that no one has come back to tell us that there is personal or individual survival after death, that is far from the truth.
Even in the Christian faith and Catholic religion, there have been esoteric teachings that point out when Jesus returned from the dead, he did so, not in his physical body, but his subtle body.
Legends tell us that those who saw this "apparition" reacted in ways more dramatic than even the Bible's mild description. People fainted and died when Jesus returned to them, not because he did return, but because he was no longer in a physical body.
It should be kept in mind, however, that survival after physical death does not prove immortality.
One does not become immortal simply by dying. Much knowledge, evolution of consciousness, much time and method are required to approach various summits of existence here and elsewhere.
The thrust of conscious evolution is a powerful force on both sides of the veil of death. It is simply foolish to imagine or wish for some permanent (stagnant) place in heaven.
Imagine sitting around playing harps and singing hymns for eternity. The other side of the veil provides opportunities to continue to expand one's consciousness; to attain true immortality; to continue to serve the "flickering lights" that are our brothers and sisters; to further seed the minds of the benefactors of science; to inspire and advise religious, spiritual and political leaders; to lift the hearts of lonely artists and comfort the children, the destitute, the sick and handicapped.
