Divest from genocide, end ‘strategic partnership’

1 min read

Hawaii needs to divest from genocide by ending the "strategic partnership" then-governor Ige signed with Israel in 2022.

Nothing excuses the heinous acts of Oct. 7th during which Israeli civilians and soldiers were killed by both Hamas and the Israeli military, but everything that has followed has been indiscriminate and unjustifiable.

Even if every lie told by Israel were really true, it still wouldn't justify killing 30,000 people, over 10,000 of whom are children.

The American-fueled Israeli military has completely destroyed an area less than half the size of Molokai, with well over 2 million people, and left the survivors to starve. Schools, churches, mosques, hospitals, entire city blocks. Every last member of entire extended families. This is not self-defense and more and more countries are joining South Africa bringing charges against Israel.

In other places where they have these strategic partnerships, the local police departments send officers to train with the Israeli military. Hawaii knows all too well that police need to be trained to be less aggressive, not more.

So far, nearly 2,000 people have signed a petition demanding an end to the partnership and I urge you to do the same at: change.org/endthepartnership.
