If King was mayor, fewer lives would have been lost

1 min read

It is too bad.  If Kelly King had been elected mayor, more lives may well have been spared by the horrific fires.

Why? More competent decision making by more qualified people at the helm in positions of authority, including and especially Mayor Richard Bissen.

She would have drained the Maui County swamp of corrupt or inept county directors of the Departments of the Corporation Counsel, Planning, Public Works, and Emergency Management.

The county would have also been run by a person who knows how to work with the council to manage a local government successfully, serving the people and the a'ina, while balancing competing needs and interests effectively.

Next time there's an election, let's get it right this time.
