I'm writing to offer collaboration on a piece regarding the current state of mental health issues and needs of my community. I have been the only Psychologist in Lahaina for 12 years with my team, and I'd like to offer some insight from not only the highest credentialed Psychologist on island but also as a Lahaina community member.
We've served over 6k West Maui residents in our 12 years and it's in my heart to share from this one of a kind perspective. I opened WMCC in 2011 with a Maui cruiser for collateral through MEO and a vision for quality access to mental health care for Lahaina.
I'm writing not for free advertising, I've had a waitlist forever, I'm writing because nobody has really described or knows the community and the real, genuine mental health of my community I've been with for 12 years. I want to share my perspective as a professional who serves the community and is part of the community.
I haven't seen that really addressed yet. I work tirelessly with all our PCP's for patients and we have things to share from an insider perspective that I really believe will be helpful. I can also get PCP from Maui Medical Lahaina to join me in an article. I thank you in advance.
