Letter: Frequent purveyor of offensive misinformation
A tip of the hat to an editor in a specific regard. As he recently pointed out, information for years has noted much higher “difficulty” rates with full face snorkel masks than others. May future comments be as on point. One has to wonder if the same info applies to many similar types of masks.
A question is why the first letter to run on Sept. 17 was one by frequent submitter of offensive misinformation nastily, even defamatorily, headed ‘Who cares that our driver is demented and corrupt?”
Near-immediate neutral careful review by experts of the debate performance by Vice President Kamala Harris counted her misstatements or lies at one or two. Former president Donald Trump clocked in at 34 or 35 incorrect statements or lies.
Misrepresentation sometimes is more than simply inaccurate. For instance, moderators do not usually get to fact check. They are busy moderating. But who does, doing so today, are very bright, unconfused analysts in The NY Times. Their detailed analysis pointed out at length that our VP in her 23-minute speech on Friday, Sept. 20 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, made five false or inaccurate statements. By contrast, our other candidate in 63 minutes on the same day in Las Vegas made 64 false or inaccurate statements. Enough said.
In another vein, Mr. Bement provided an incisive overview of reporting in an ABC special which in his wise opinion unfairly caused some of the dramatic drop in Maui tourism. A big thank you to him for his comments.
