Letter: Voters were warned, but played by right
The American people just left a terrible legacy to their children and grandchildren.
It is so sad that they let themselves be played by Fox News, Russian trolls and crazy conspiracy theorists.
Vladimir Putin’s playbook has been to sow division for years. He could barely restrain his glee when commenting on Donald Trump’s win.
Democracy is imperfect. Republicans have always had different views of governance which is their right. But I am sorry, Trump is not the answer.
Liz Cheney and many other experienced competent Republicans did the patriotic thing and told themselves they would vote for Harris to preserve our country’s most inherent values and spend the next 4 years out strategizing on how to build a platform that wasn’t based on hate and division.
Do you know how unusual it is for people in the military to criticize a past president? Those generals put their reputations on the line trying to warn us.
Goodbye Ukraine, goodbye NATO, and if NATO goes, watch Estonia and Poland go.
Goodbye to the environment. Goodbye to our food and water quality. Goodbye affordable healthcare. Goodbye to fair wages and pensions. Goodbye to public education. Goodbye to women’s rights.
And Fox News, along with Trump, will be spinning it all as Biden’s fault. When Trump pardons the people who violently stormed the Capitol on Jan 6, 2021, they will become his ready-made “goon squad” to do his bidding.
Citizens who believed that a foul-mouthed, convicted criminal, inept past president, was better than an experienced woman were sorely played.
You were warned.
