Some downhill bike companies are out of control, with their customers now riding on Makawao Avenue and Kaupakalua Road.
I fault the county with their serious tourist and public safety oversight for allowing this.
On a related topic, I hope before all of the telephone poles are replaced again that Maui and the state of Hawaii will be a leader in combination cable conduit and bicycle paths.
As beautiful as Maui is, it is past time all the lines we see are put underground, with the icing on the cake being bicycle paths on top.
I realize I am dreaming, but it doesn't cost anything to dream.
