It was impossible to miss watching the Island Landscapers using their blowers to blow landscape remnants into the sewer openings along the curb of the road; with obvious acceptance based on years of similar activity.
I took a moment and drove the roads in the immediate environs. And saw the same thing going on at Kilohana and others.
Walking the beaches and seeing basically the same landscape remnants, I totally understand from where they come. This practice has been common for years and I am sure it has been reported.
Thinking back how many times have any of us really seen the landscapers using any sort of bags to gather up the cuttings and remnants and taking them off to the appropriate disposal areas. I really don't remember living in the area seeing that occurrence.
The practice can be easily stopped. No doubt, they are not the only landscapers that are responsible for the problem, as there is a multitude of landscape remnants coming down the flood channels onto the beach.
However, anything as blatant, as this continues as an occurrence can easily be stopped if whomever has hired them takes that responsibility.
I think all of us will be much more pleased. And the pollution and degradation of our beaches and ocean can certainly be reduced.
