Letter: Quoting Scripture can be deemed hate speech?

Upon encountering Charlie Kirk, my initial reaction was that he was in danger of being harmed.

In retrospect, this may seem like an obvious observation.

However, within a mere 30 seconds, I witnessed how effectively he countered liberal ideologies with concise arguments.

The threat I perceived stemmed from the visibly angered reactions of disillusioned young adults, who were presented with facts that challenged their beliefs.

Rather than engaging in a debate and learning from Charlie’s perspectives, they took offense and labeled his views as “hate speech.”

This reaction was particularly pronounced when Charlie referenced Scripture, eliciting authentic and palpable outrage.

It is concerning that quoting Scripture can be deemed “hate speech.”

Whenever Charlie countered liberal ideologies, the accusation of hate speech inevitably followed.

We have your back, Charlie Kirk.
