President Donald Trump's illegal acts of war against Venezuela are a clear violation of U.S. military, and international law.
Every drone bombing of unknown boats, murders of unknown people on those boats, seizure of oil tankers, and now bombing of Caracas and kidnapping of a sovereign nation's president and first lady have been equally illegal, not to mention outrageously immoral.
The Trump administration has now unilaterally launched a regime change war against Venezuela as a first step toward hoped-for hegemony over the Western Hemisphere. (Remember the threats to Greenland, Canada, Mexico, Cuba. There will be more.)
The United States does not have the right, as Trump stated, to "run" Venezuela.
This violation of international law is what Putin has done in Ukraine, and it gives our nation's blessing to any country on earth that may wish to attack another country to seize their resources or change their governments.
Congress must immediately pass a War Powers Resolution to end this illegal military operation and reassert its constitutional responsibilities.
