Letter: FEMA housing going to Lahaina fire survivors?
So, Federal Emergency Management Agency is extending the assistance for allegedly helping with housing fire victims?
Why does nobody report on the millions in damages done by FEMA occupants to multiple private residences?
How about the allegation that most of the “temporary emergency housing” locations have minimal Lahaina survivors?
How about the alleged crime and drug use at some of these locations and the “relaxed” regulations that allegedly have resulted in multiple deaths and assaults at some of these locations?
Why are all these issues hidden from the public?
Why is state and county money being spent on programs that seem to promote drug use?
I personally witnessed a drug deal with money and drugs being passed between two people less than 10 feet from a “guard” and nothing was done after I reported it to them.
Crime in the Safeway Hookele area exploded after the opening of the homeless camp there and everyone pretends it’s not the case.
These programs that were started with good intentions have been hijacked by addicts and those who feign ignorance or simply hide the truth about who is benefitting from these programs.
It’s time for an audit to educate the well-meaning bleeding hearts.
The people that need the assistance are competing with drug addicts and system abusers, and that has to stop.
