Letter: We don’t build arenas like the Romans did
Verona Arena is 2,000 years old in Italy.
It was built during the Roman Empire with pink and white limestone which was obtained in the mountains.
It was built without any modern-day equipment and went through many renovations starting in the 1500s, and even survived an earthquake.
The arena was also used for gladiator contest. It is still used today, with a capacity of 22,000.
During the Roman Empire, the capacity was 30,000.
The arena was used for closing winter Olympic ceremony.
The arena is still used today mainly for concert venues and also a tourist attraction.
The Romans had brilliant engineers and builders. Aloha Stadium was built with modern day equipment and material.
Aloha Stadium is only 50 years old, and will be demolished because it is unsafe.
