Letter: Spend your movie budget anywhere else

Barry Wurst’s review of Steven Spielberg’s “Disclosure Day” takes readers on a condescending, roundabout journey through film school academia rather than getting to the meat of the matter. We don’t need a lecture on the Spielberg canon. It would have sufficed to say the movie is wet dog.

In today’s grueling, “get-it-done-yesterday” world, filmgoers just want to know if a movie is worth their hard-earned dollars as an escape from the daily grind.

“Disclosure Day” is so topsy-turvy and void of believability that it’s mind-boggling to discuss it in the context of Spielberg’s classic works. Sometimes an artist clings to familiar chops long after the magic has moved on. Mr. Spielberg should have quit while he was ahead.

Save yourself the overt verbiage and the ticket price. A more appropriate title for this catastrophe is “Displeasure Day.” Spend your entertainment budget anywhere else.
